Five pieces of 1 cm x 4 cm pieces of mica. These industrial grade cut pieces of mica make the work of castle and house windows much easier. This amount might do a whole casket full of buildings. To use, take an exacto knife and carefully place the blade on the corner edge of the mica to split it into thinner layers. Repeat this process again for each split at least once until the mica becomes thin enough to cut easily with a pair of metal scissors. At thin layers, the mica can also be pierced with a needle without fracturing if desired.

Visit product page →Thistle Threads is very excited to introduce a series of eight types of glass eyes reproduced from eyes used in 17th century stumpwork. These eyeballs were designed with Holly Paolino, a glass artist. The eyes are made in a multi-step process to create a colored eye with black iris on a ring to keep the eye attached to the embroidery.
The eyeballs are made in a 2 mm size and a 3 mm size in four colors - blue, cream, brown, and yellow and are available in singles and matched pairs.
A single eye would be used for a bird or animal that is shown in profile, a matched pair for when an animal is shown face on. In general, the 2 mm eyes work well for squirrels and birds, the larger eyes for medium scale animals such as lions, leopards, stags, etc. -

Stumpwork Fruit Forms

Visit product page →These cotton forms are perfectly sized to be covered in needlelace and adorn stumpwork trees. Each form has a hole in one end to allow knots to be buried and needles can be pushed through the packed cotton.
The forms range from 3/8" -5/8" in size depending on the form. The forms are available in groups:- Acorns and pears
- Oranges (Large berries), and lemons. (note apples no longer available)
- Small berries
- Strawberries
- A set of fruit and veggie forms including long berries, smaller lemons, onions, turnips, and gourds. Only two of each shape is included. Great for food in baskets, cornucopias or on plates.
- A set of wooden forms can be used for acorns as well.

Seed Pearls

Visit product page →Seed pearls are often found strung as necklaces for women. A cut one inch length of seed pearls is included in the seed pearl vial as well as any single pearls that fell off the length. If you intend to use the pearls as a necklace, you might carefully lay the length in place and couch it down and then hide the ends, removing any excess pearls. Seed pearls are notoriously hard to fit a needle in, therefore the string they arrived on was kept intact. If you need to restring, heavily wax a thread and try to feed it through the hole without a needle.
