Use of Japanese Rice Paste Glue
Originally used for bookbinding in Japan, Japanese Rice Paste is a natural, acid-free, and non-toxic glue. It dries clear and slowly, without altering the color of silk threads. This natural starch paste serves as an excellent alternative to fray check when working with threads. It is particularly useful for preventing the ends of gimps from fraying while you're working with them.
The pre-made paste is easy to use—simply apply with a small brush or needle to the desired area, or dip the end of a thread directly into the paste to secure it. Let dry before using a sharp pair of scissors to make a clean cut of the thread.
