Thread Structure
These gilt spangles are die cut and 4-5 mm in diameter. There are two types: those with holes already in the circular shape (Flitter) and those which have no hole (Folien). The pieces without a hole can be pierced with an awl to make a hole where desired or a thread used to hold down by making an X over the piece.
Uses of Die Cut Spangles
This is one of the most exciting product finds in years for me - spangles that are shaped or textured! You can imagine all kinds of ways to embellish them by using colored thread to secure them, a colored silk purl chip, a bead, etc.
Downloadable Project
Try the die cut spangles on Christmas Baubles, a downloadable free project. There is a prepackaged kit available with all the needed threads.
