Optional Kit Contents

This optional kit includes: Foxtail Millet 45 ct Linen, needle, six colors of soie paris filament silk, a piece of pink silk for the backing, silk facette gimp and silk lacet for the ornament edging.  The maker will have to provide matt board and batting for the finishing or purchase a 3” ornament finishing kit.

Martha's Rose Ornament and Mini-Course

Martha's Rose is a 3-inch diameter ornament stitched with Soie Paris. The instructions for this project are part of the mini-course "Martha Edlin - Her Life and Embroidery," available for $15. This course includes:

• A video presentation on Martha Edlin’s biography, based on my original research.
• A video focusing on her embroideries.
• A detailed set of instructions for the Martha's Rose ornament.
• An additional video on handling filament silks.

The course is available for 31 days from the date of purchase (with extra time granted in case of technical issues). The ornament instructions are downloadable for you to keep. Additionally, $5 from each course registration will be donated to the Textile Department at the V&A.

The course can be watched as many times as you like within the 31-day access period. Please note that my teaching platform and shop require separate user/passwords, as they are hosted by different companies.

Once you order the course, I'll email you the user/password for the teaching site. The email will be sent to the address linked to your Thistle Threads Shopify account and will be from Shopify's system. I usually send the email within 8 hours.
